Voting Boxes for the 2026 Local Council Election and Women’s Development Committee Election

The Elections Commission of the Maldives has officially released information regarding the voting boxes for the upcoming Local Council election and Women’s Development Committee elections, scheduled for 4th April 2026.
The released details include the number of voting boxes, voting box codes, polling locations, and the designated islands and polling places.
A total of 621 voting boxes have been allocated for this election:
- 321 voting boxes for the atolls.
- 240 voting boxes for residents of atolls as well as voters from Kulhudufushi City, Fuvahmulah City, Thinadhoo City, and Addu City who are residing in Male’, Hulhumale’, and Vilimale’.
- 3 voting boxes for technical/industrial operation locations.
- 5 voting boxes for jail/correctional facilities.
- 50 voting boxes for various resorts.
- 2 voting boxes for overseas voting.
A total of 225 constituencies will participate in electing members to the Local Councils and Women’s Development Committees.
