The Elections Commission of Maldives has published the voters registry for a second verification following the initial publication on 7 January 2026, ahead of the 2026 Local Council Election and Women’s Development Committee Election, scheduled for 4 April 2026.

Following the initial publication, the Commission addressed complaints submitted by voters during the complaints period. The changes resulting from these complaints have now been published for a second verification, and voters are urged to verify and update their registration details to ensure their information is accurate. This includes confirming personal information such as name, address, and other relevant details.

The updated voters registry will be available through multiple channels:

  • Official Gazette
  • Elections Commission website: www.elections.gov.mv
  • City, island, and atoll council offices
  • SMS: Send “VR [space] ID number” to 1414

Voters are encouraged to complete any necessary corrections by 15:00 on 8 February 2026. Any issues related to the registry must be submitted via the Elections Commission MyPortal: https://my.elections.gov.mv.

The Commission advises all voters to ensure their details are correct to avoid issues on election day and to retain copies of any official documents submitted during the registration process.

A total of 779 complaints were received following the initial submission of the voters registry. These complaints mainly concerned voters updating their details, including changes to name, address, or other registration information. The Commission emphasizes that timely verification of voter details is essential to ensure a smooth and error-free voting process during the 2026 elections.
