The Elections Commission wishes to remind all individuals who have not yet re-registered to vote for the 2026 Local Council and Women’s Development Committee Elections and Public Referendum that the re-registration period will close on Saturday, 22 February 2026, at 15:00 hours.

 

Individuals who have already completed their re-registration are not required to re-register if they were previously registered to vote in the 2014 parliamentary elections or any other prior elections.

 

However, individuals who applied to re-register in locations, such as resorts, where the minimum number of registered voters is not met, or where ballot secrecy cannot be ensured, have been formally notified. These individuals have been provided with the opportunity to change their registered voting location to ensure that their votes are cast securely and confidentially.

 

Voter registration status may be verified online via the Elections Commission Re-Registration Portal (form.elections.gov.mv) or through My Portal (my.elections.gov.mv).

 

Additionally, individuals who have completed their re-registration may obtain information regarding their assigned voting location by sending an SMS to 1414 in the following format: VR (space) NID.
