The Elections Commission has opened the opportunity for interested individuals to submit applications to serve as representatives of candidates.

 

Applications are open from today until 1:00 p.m. on 7 March 2026 for individuals wishing to serve as representatives of candidates contesting in the 2026 Local Council and Women’s Development Committee Elections, scheduled to be held on 4 April 2026.

 

Each candidate is permitted to appoint one representative for every ballot box at which the candidate’s votes are cast. The presence of representatives enables candidates to observe the voting process and contributes to ensuring the transparency and integrity of the electoral process.

 

Applications must be submitted through the My Portal available at my.elections.gov.mv. Once the details of the representative are submitted through the portal, the decleration form will be made available via the representative’s personal verified eFaas account.

 

Representatives of candidates are required to comply with all mandatory election rules and regulations. They are also strongly encouraged to participate in the information session conducted by the Elections Commission.

 

The 2026 Local Council and Women’s Development Committee Elections will be held on Saturday, 4 April 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
